Michael [16] -1996-

John Tavolta stars in what seems to be his 50th movie in three years. The man has turned career revival into an art form. Michael, on the surface, appears to be a sequel to Phenomenon. In Phenomenon he plays a Christ-like character, and now he plays an Angel. (Maybe it is a statement about his carrer....e.g. SOMEBODY must be protecting this guy to have him comeback so often.) Anyway - I expect Michael to be a great date flick. But not much more. Expect them to overuse the wings jokes and human-condtion commentary. To be blunt - I expect it to be preachy. Not that, that is a sin, mind you. Travolta will be wonderful in his quirky sort of way, and the secondary cast will be well acted. Just don't expect a stellar plot line or original thinking. {AB}
