Mr. Magoo [11] -1997-

Leslie Nielson does the deadpan serious comedy very well and seems to me to be a good fit for the role. However, the role is not one of the big ones in Hollywood. Disney studios goes once more to the already-used-ideas barrel and dusts off the Mr. Magoo cartoon for turning into live action. Once again the cartoon will not always translate well into a movie with real actors. Lets face it: cartoons can bend in places real people can not. The politically correct among you will already have pointed out that it makes fun of nearsighted people. I am near sighted, and I say BIG DEAL. It makes for good pre-adolescent humor. More astute people might also take comfort in the fact that the original cartoon made fun of slightly drunk crabby old men too. I wish Disney would do more live-action-to-cartoon movie conversions.
