    My Favorite Martian [8] -1999-

    Expectation Reviews
TV show remakes to the movies are either really good or really bad. The formula works this way:
       Good old TV Show
    + Good New Actors
    + More/Better Action and Scenery
    + Deeper plot line
    = Great Movie.

Take away any one of those factors and you go right to BAD. My Favorite Martian was a marginal show at best, in my opinion. It might have had a minimalist off-Broadway feel to it in that you knew Ray Walston was a Martian only because he had a motorized telescoping transistor radio antenna in his head. But, that's about it. Now we know aliens are much different with wild limbs and eyestalks. They picked up the leftover costumes and makeup from _Men_In_Black_ and wrote the story around them. (What if....the main character grew an alien appendage from his chest? HAHAHA....Great, lets use that.) [BB]
