    Batman & Robin [5]

    Expectation Reviews
O.K. it is the sequel we've all been waiting for. Can Clooney cut it in the cape? Can Chris O'Donnel make Robin into a real man or just cannon fodder. Will Val regret turning over the mask? And can the Batman franchise continue the winning tradition after stumbling with Batman 2? I thought Batman (3) Forever was the tops. And I find myself a little jaded. Can Batman 4 equal it? Can Arnold BE Mr. Freeze the way Cary WAS the Riddler? or Nicholson WAS the Joker? And will Alicia Silverstone do justice to BatGirl? (Where is BatMite? Just kidding.) Enough questions. Neither Keaton or Kilmer has the "chin" that Clooney has. Enough said. 5/15/97 - After I seening the trailers I had to drop the expectation level greatly. This movie is gonna bite big time. Keaton and Kilmer both made Batman a stoic and stern character. Just what the part needed. This has more of a 50's feel to it. Clooney even smiles! Oh, well. Guess I'll save my money for another viewing of Jedi. You should to. [AB]
