Thing About My Folks, The [22]

    Expectation Reviews
Paul Reiser and Peter Falk have been traveling from city to city promoting this movie. Paul called it the movie that will get Peter Falk the Oscar for 2005. That remains to be seen. I enjoy Peter Falk's acting. The In-Laws was great. And so help me, I love the Columbo movies. Peter did a great job as the narrator in The Princess Bride. Paul wrote this script to work with Peter. During a radio interview, Paul repeatedly moistened Peter's butt with kissing, so it was hard to listen too. But they are pushing hard for Peter's Oscar.

According to Paul, the movie opens Sam Kleinman (Peter) showing up at his son Ben Kleinman's (Paul) house and saying that "your mom has left". The story works through the marriage and life. Sam and Ben take the movie on the road and re-connect. Apparently at the end, no one leaves the theater with a dry eye. I plan to see this when it is released on DVD.
