    Over The Hedge [26]

    Expectation Reviews
    I have been happy with all of the new Dreamworks animated features like Shrek and Magagascar. They all seem to contain about 10 gags per minute. This movie will continue that trend. I had some good laughs from the previews on the Madagascar DVD. Even William Shatner has a good natured parody of himself being overly dramatic. And. saying. each. word. as. a. complete. sentence.

    My kids are finally ready to see this in the theater and so am I. {BB}

    Over The Hedge is a syndicated comic strip written and drawn by Michael Fry and T. Lewis. It tells the story of a raccoon named RJ and a turtle named Verne who come to terms with their woodlands being taken over by suburbia, trying to survive the increasing flow of humanity and technology while becoming enticed by it at the same time.

    In the movie, RJ the raccoon accidently destroys all of the Vincent the bears food, along with his red wagon and blue cooler. Luckily, he finds the new suburban development El Rancho Camelot Estates, where he can steal all the replacement items he needs. Meanwhile, Verne, Hammy, Lou, Stella, Ozzie, Penny, Heather, Spike, Bucky, and Quillo awaken from hibernation to discover a hedge, which newcomer RJ tells them is nothing to fear. Yet while Verne insists that what lies beyond the hedge is dangerous, RJ gets the animals to explore and, unbeknownst to them, steal the items he needs for Vincent. All the activity incites the ire of Gladys Sharp, president of the home-owners association, who brings in a heavily armed pest-control expert, the Verminator.
