Deep Impact [10]

Earth could be on a collision course with any number of heavenly bodies (Including the SUN). So the premise is, what are we going to do about it? Evidently, we are going to do NOTHING! In the 50's and 60's Armageddon from the USSR and nuclear fallout was a problem. We could stop this, however, by dismantling our bombs. Now we have stopped worrying about man-made death from above. We have natural death from above. This movie is $10 million dollars too expensive to have made it as the ABC end-of-the-world movie of the week. (Although, I bet the writers shopped it there first.) The special effects look good. Although the trailer of skyscrapers toppling like dominos seems corny. This movie will drown on Memorial weekend 1998. [BB]
