When Word documents are available on a web page for download, they usually open right away in Microsoft Word or your word viewer. If you want to change this so as to be able to save them upon clicking you can follow these steps.
You must be able to log in as the administrator to make this change for yourself.
1. Double-click My Computer.
2. On the Tools menu, click Folder Options.
3. On the File Types tab, click the appropriate file type (DOC - Word Document) in the Registered File Types box.
4. Click Advanced.
5. Click to select the "Confirm Open After Download" check box.
6. Click OK, and then click OK.
This will enable you to save the documents to the directory of your choice.
