Here is a problem that has been reported on Microsoft Word documents.

I am getting a “disk is full” pop-up message when I try to save a Microsoft Word document from the opened from the Intranet.
When trying to save/download a few documents from the intranet web sites, you can open the document in the viewer (Microsoft Internet Explorer with Word/Excel/PDF plugin). But when you try to save it to anything, including a shared network drive, your local C: drive,
or a CD, you get a "Disk is full error." This problem occurs intermittently.
The error message appears as a message box with Word, or balloon on Internet Explorer:

The Disk is Full. Free some space on this drive, or save the document on another disk.
Try one or more of the following:
* Close any unneeded documents, programs and windows
* Save the document on another disk
Fix For Microsoft Office Documents
- This can happen if too many Microsoft Office (Word/Excel) windows or applications are open.
- It may also be that your temporary directory is overloaded. When you download files from the web, they get copied into your "temporary" directory first. Then when you save the document, they finally go to your destination directory. You can find where your temporary directory is set by following these steps:
1.) Open a windows "command window"
(Start Menu Run [type: “cmd” without quotes])
or (Start menu Programs Accessories Command Prompt)
2.) Type this command: echo %TEMP%
This will show your temporary directory: ("C:\Temp" for example).
The temp directory should be cleaned out. Most people find their temp directories full of old TMP files and DOC files.
If the drive that contains your temporary directory has less than 10MB available, there are going to be problems.
- The other possibility might be that your disk drive is fragmented. You can run scandisk.
