    Twister [21] -1996-

    Movie Reviews

    Call me silly, but I never saw Twister in the theater, yet on the first day of it's video purchase release, I bought the thing. Not that I'm terribly disappointed mind you, the movie does have its merits. After purchasing my copy at the local Tower, I rushed home to watch my newfound prize (In the rare letterbox version on VHS) and was mildly disappointed. I first thought the characters were more caricatures of real people and thought them rather silly.

    Overall it had a decent storyline (The sub-plot of the divorce at first seemed more of a nuisance than contribution) about people chasing tornadoes around Oklahoma and damn near getting themselves killed. After a second viewing, I'm much more sold on the film. The characters give a fresh breath and depict good-hearted people trying to solve a problem. If you were first turned off by this movie, give it another chance. It gets better with age. {SD}
