Beautiful Girls [22]

I was very surprised by Beautiful Girls, I figured this movie would be a snorer and a half just from the box. I was blown away. Ted Demme has made one nice movie here. A high school reunion set in a Massachusetts blue-collar town brings out a hilarious battle of the sexes. Timothy Hutton and Rosie O'Donnell are the two big names here with notable appearances by Uma Thurman (Pulp Fiction) and Matt Dillon.

What starts out as a boring trip from New York for Hutton, turns into a hilarious look at life in a small town. As an added bonus, I now want to marry Uma Thurman. She plays the perfect woman. She can tell you down to the day when pitchers and catchers report to spring training and if you ask her to go ice fishing in the middle of the night, she says YES!!! Also look for very cool scenes between Hutton and newcomer Annabeth Gish as he explores a "crush" on a 13-year-old girl. Nothing sick, but it is very cute. Sit around with the guys and watch this movie (or the girls... or a date... whatever.. just rent it.) The only reason it doesn't score a 29 here is due to a low explosion quotient. {SD}
