    Highlander II: The Quickening [6]

    Movie Reviews
    Following a moderately successful Highlander movie, this stinker screws up the whole mythology. By attempting to explain some of the unanswered questions of the immortals, this movie ruins the whole mystique. No, these people were not born on Earth. In fact they are aliens from the planet Zeist sent to Earth as a punishment. They will have to fight each other until there is only one left.

    Was I the only one that thought he was "Zeisted"? As soon as Zeist ruler General Katana (Michael Ironside) appears on Earth, Conner McLeod (Christopher Lamber) is once again young and immortal. Katana feared that McCleod would come back to Zeist and take over. Why not let McLeod die? How is he going to get back to Zeist anyway?

    By the way, just how many back-lit ventilation fans appeared in the movie? And speaking of fans, Sean Connery reprises his role of Juan Sánchez Villa-Lobos Ramírez just to be killed by a ceiling fan!

    Stupid, stupid, stupid. Highlander cult movie fans will likely enjoy this, but I certainly did not. {BB}
