    Cop Land [14]

    Movie Reviews

    This is supposed to be one of the most critically acclaimed performances by Sly Stallone. I say he plays a timid Rambo. Give him credit for bulking up to look the part of a donut guzzling law officer. He gives a believable performance as the Sheriff of a fictional New Jersey community accross the Hudson from Manhattan. This town is the home to some renegade NYPD cops on the take.

    All of the deputies of Sheriff Heflin are cowards, Janeane Garafolo in particular. They added nothing except to attempt to give it a High Noon feel. DO a remake of Rio Bravo for goodness sake. Now that is a Sheriff movie.

    The final scene plays out strangely as nobody really takes the time to blow away an armed and dangerous Rambo looking dude. Come on, Harvey Keitel, the Wolf? Seriously... {BB}
