Diggstown [24]

The combination of James Woods and Louis Gossett, Jr. in a buddy movie??? Trust me... it works wonderfully. Woods plays a con-man, fresh out of prison that puts together the scam of the year against a low life scumbucket that stole a town during a rigged fight years ago. With a little help from Gossett and Oliver Platt (Flatliners), he manages to pull it off. The contest: Honey Roy Palmer, (Gossett) a has been boxer that never made it to the big times vs. any 10 Diggstown men. The bet: Sky's the limit. This movie is filled with wonderful moments, and lots of laughs. Kind of like an old "Road" movie made famous by Crosby and Hope, but has its serious moments as well. Diggstown offers lots of fun for a slow night at home. You'll probably be glad you dug this one of the video store, if you are lucky enough to find it. {SD}
