Mercury Rising [16]

Just another in a string of Die Hard clones. This one should have been called Die Hard: Rain Man. I like Bruce Willis. I like the Die Hard persona. But I don't like it repackaged for every different senerio. 5th Element (Die Hard in Space) was different enought to make it a cut above. Mercury Rising is not different enough therefore does not rise, it sinks. How many times can I watch Bruce the rouge good cop gets screwed by a suit - then finds/stumbles/gets caught up in a "cause", this time an autistic child that can "read" a top secret security code. Bruce's mother instincts kick in, he kicks in a few heads, and saves the day. The cardboard head evil secret government honcho does not help much either. The movie is video fodder. Wait for the video release this Winter, then wait for it to drop of the full price list. [AB]
