If you know some things about Russian history concerning the revolution, you might think that this protrayal of the overthrow of the czar is a little kinder and gentler. But what do you want, it is for children. I liked the voice talent. I would never have guessed the voice of Kelsey Grammar. And I struggled through the whole movie to guess Dimitri's voice (who was John Cusack.) The animation was spectacular. It was a nice combination of computer and cel drawings. Rasputin makes a great evil character. He is so twisted, however, you just can not like him. Extra bonus points for singing maggots and weevils. It was a little hard for me to enjoy the story knowing how brutally the real Romanov family was treated. {BB}
