Could Diane Keaton's character be any less sympathetic? She is a rich country club mom. She has a good husband and three lovely daughters. She is pushy and stubborn. Its hard to think that one willful daughter could be overwhelming for her. We have to laugh every time her daughter keeps her from getting high and mighty.

This was a touching love story. No one leaves the theater with a dry eye. Perhaps the release date was made to coincide with the 1998 Acadamy award nominations so that this movie will fresh in the minds of the 1999 voters. Oscar nomiations coming next year for Juliette Lewis as Carla Tate. Supporting Actress Diane Keaton. This is the love story of 1999.

Best drunken line from Giovanni Ribisi (Plays Phoebe's brother Frank on the _Friends_ TV show) to a young couple out for a moonlight stroll: "I know what you guys are gonna do tonight!"

Many women will see themselves in Carla Tates place as she struggles to free herself from "mommys little girl" into adulthood. [BB]
