Fun: Matchbox Superfast 2005 update: Wave G Delivered!
    Matchbox Die Cast Cars
The last three cars for Wave G in the Matchbox Superfast 2005 line finally shipped out. I was able to assemble and photograph the whole collection. I think that the black Dodge charger is my favorite in Wave G. Although it has turned sideways in its package, something that sounds pretty common according to the ebay auctions. I am particularly pleased by all the models with the throwback five spoke wheels. However my favorite model is the green camoflauge HMMWV (High Mobility Multipurpose wheeled vehicle or "Humvee"). It reminds me of the Superfast military vehicles of the past like the Weasel and Stoat. The Badger Rolomatics radar truck was one of my all-time favorites. However the cement truck version of the Badger did not make any sense.

Mattel changed factories from China to Thailand.  Apparently, the Thailand factory did not complete the 2005 Superfast Row Wave F and USA Wave G and instead began production of the 2006 Superfast. I had no problem getting my wave F cars. But the Wave G that I preordered in December 2005 did not appear until April 2006. I do not blame the store, they did a great job and kept the prices reasonable. A seller on eBay was reporting that only 3,000 wave G sets were made and that he bought the last 100. That was pretty unnerving.

The word on the street is that there will be a Superfast III series with some Streaker models. There will be 15,000 of each produced. Then that will be the end of the special Superfast packages. Matchbox will be concentrating on their regular line. They are coming out with some great models in the regular line in 2006, so I will only be slightly disappointed at the end of the Superfast boxes.

    #70 Mercedes-Benz Sl55
    #74 Porsche Cayenne SUV
    #75 Dodge Charger
