College Football 2007 Week 11 Analysis
|
|
|
The Orange Bowl stadium played host to its last Miami Hurricanes
football game. Although it never really was a bowl shaped stadium, Dade
County is not really an orange producing area, and the Orange Bowl game
is clearly a ripoff of the Rose Bowl, the stadium hosted some great
college football over the years. Miami is one of the few Division I
schools that does not play football on its own campus, and that makes
them doomed to wander from place to place at the whims of the city and
other professional franchises.
The UCLA Bruins turned out to be goats after all, losing the first of their 1-2-3 series to win the PAC-10. Arizona State looked primed to lead into the BCS championship. All they need to do is beat Oregon. Easier said than done. Oregon is on the top of the heap now.
Wisconsin beat Michigan and Illinois beat Ohio State to make the Michigan - Ohio State game a bit less glamorous. Ohio State should win, but now they are out of the BCS championship hunt. Then, if Illinois wins out over Northwestern, the Illini could be in position for the number two Capital One bowl which is on regular network TV on New Years Day. Michigan might still get the nod. The Badgers would end up in fourth place.
Boston College lost to Maryland. AUGH! The craziness just keeps coming. It still comes down to Clemson vs BC for the ACC Atlantic title.
