You may also see this on your browser screen when you attempt to use the application.

The appliation may compile fine, but will not run.
Here are some things to check:
It may be that there are folder permissions issues, especially if this applications creates or uploads files. Add these users to the permissions for the folders and sub-folders to read and write:
IWAM_(your machine name)
IWAM_(your machine name)
ASPNET
Make sure that there are no read-only folders as well.
Verify that there are no syntax errors in your web.config file.
