Fun: Matchbox Superfast 2008 new models available!
    Matchbox Die Cast Cars
A new line of Matchbox Superfast branded models is appearing in Wal Mart stores for the summer of 2008. These models consist of the car outside the box in a rectangular clear cellophane box. There are 10 of these boxes loaded into a flat cardboard display box.

The first wave of these models are packed in a cardboard box labeled Super Fast 2008 MIX-A M2635-9993.

Instead of a somewhat random mixture, this time the models are released in numerical order. The first 10 models in this wave are:

#01 - Bentley Continental GT (Forest green)
    #02 - Porsche 911 GT3 (blue)
#03 - Hiway Hauler (Tow truck flat bed yellow cab)
    #04 - 72 Ford Bronco 4x4 (purple)
    #05 - Volvo C30 (steel blue)
    #06 - 97 Land Rover Defender 110 (pale green)
#07 - Desert Thunder V16 (white Dakar rally racing truck with orange design)
#08 - 65 Austin Mini Van (purple with UK flag on the roof and classic 5 spoke wheels)
#09 - 63 Cadillac Hearse (gray body with whitewall tires)
#10 - Audi RS6 Avant (black Audi wagon)

After the 2006 wave came out, the releases seemed to be very disorganized, and I never was able to locate complete sets or fill out the collections. So I only have about 20. The same thing occurred with the 2007 sets. I suspect the same thing will happen with the 2008 sets.

    Update December 2008!

The second wave appeeared. These are going to be very difficult to collect. I had to purchase the hearse from wave A at an auction after looking in vain for months. Wave B is JUST starting to make its way into Wal Mart. I found a complete set.

    #10 - Audi RS6 Avant - black Audi wagon
    #11 - Lexus GS430 - Black
    #12 - Jaguar XK 120 - Baby Blue
    #13 - Audi R8 - Silver
    #14 - Mecredes Unimog U300 - Forest Green
#15 - Lotus Exige - Yellow with black wheels
    #16 - Honda Ridgeline - Purple
#17 - Ford Transit van - Blue - Plumbing and electrical
    #18 - 1965 Guilia Sprint GTA - Hubcap wheels - red
#19 - 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air hardtop - coral with white top
    #20 - Baja Bandit - metallic orange

I especially like the hubcap style wheels on the Guilia Sprint GTA. I have not seen anything like them before.
