Fun: Hallmark Mighty Tonka Twin Boom Wrecker 2005 Ornament
    Our Favorite Toys
The local Hallmark / Gold Crown store is being reconfigured this week for the 2005 Christmas ornament collection. Once I discovered the Tonka Toy ornaments in July a few years ago, I have taken to checking in during the summer to see if the new one is available. I was able to pick up a copy of the 2005 Hallmark dream book. Also, the Hasbro web site also shows the new model for 2005.

The newest addition is the Mighty Tonka Twin Boom Wrecker. Here is the link from The Hasbro web site.

Day or night, rain or snow, there's no need to fear! On its way to save the day, the Mighty TONKA Wrecker's here! Offering round-the-clock service seven days a week, this die-cast replica is as reliable as it is rugged! Boasting twin booms, tow cables and hooks, deep-grooved tires, and a blaze-red finish, this TONKA favorite from the early 1970s is still one tough customer! Power up your imagination, and make way for long-lasting memories!

Here is the current list of the Hallmark Tonka Toy Ornament Series

1996 - Mighty Tonka DUMP TRUCK (YELLOW)
1997 - Mighty Tonka FRONT LOADER
1998 - Mighty Tonka ROAD GRADER
    1999 - Tonka 1956 PUMPER
    2000 - Tonka 1949 DUMP TRUCK (RED)
2001 - Mighty Tonka STEAM SHOVEL (red)
    2002 - Tonka 1961 CEMENT TRUCK
2003 - Mighty Tonka MIGHTY CRANE
2004 - Mighty Tonka GIANT BULLDOZER
2005 - Mighty Tonka Twin Boom Wrecker (red)

Some pictures can be found Here at the Ornament Shop

I always enjoyed the Tonka look books back in the 1970’s and owned and sandboxed a few Tonka toys in my time. “Lonestar” has a great Tonka site which lists most of the old models with pictures and catalogs

No new Tonka Hallmark ornaments for 2006 (Score: 1)

The Hallmark stores are setting out their ornaments. There is no Tonka ornament for 2006 in the store or in the Dreambook. Too bad. It looks like 10 will be all we get. The best one in the series is easily the Fire truck (the 1956 pumper). The cement mixer from 1961 is the second best.

The wrecker and the bulldozer grew a bit too big compared to their other mighty tonka predecessors.
