College Football 2007 Week 12 Analysis RIVALRY WEEK

This used to be rivalry weekend, the big end of the season weekend,
after which all the bowl bids would be handed out. That has now been
moved two weeks out with the advent of the conference championship
games in the Big 12, SEC, and ACC. The PAC-10 have moved all their
rivalries out too, with four of them concluding on week 14.
Oregon stumbled early in the week at Arizona to become the latest victim in the war of attrition.
Ohio State beat Michigan, which was expected. The Big Ten season is over, with the distribution mostly how the pundits thought it would turn out. Minnesota under first year coach Tim Brewster is further down in the basement then anyone could have hoped. This is one example of the adage; You should not fire someone unless you already have a replacement lined up.
Utah defeated New Mexico State, and I hear that the tailgating at Rice-Eccles stadium is quite a treat. But Brigham Young pretty much has the Mountain West in the bag going into their Holy War rivalry game.
