The Matchbox Forum Page has an update on why the Superfast 35th Anniversary wave D shipped with only 11 cars instead of 12.

Apparently the Honda Element is the wrong color and was pulled from the box. I received my wave D set with two Chevrolet corvettes.

Here are links to the two previous Group29 articles about the Matchbox Superfast 35th anniversary cars:

#44 is the ?Factory Error? Matchbox 35th Anniversary Superfast #44 . All of the Elements were pulled Wave D cases due to "Irregular Colouring." The Matchbox forums originally reported that the green body is too dark, so Honda disapproved it to be released at retail! The paint mixer made this SUV one of the coolest factory errors produced by Matchbox this year Every one of the Elements produced in this shade of green was removed from Wave D cases and had a red sticker "Irregular Colouring" attached on the blister and a special UPC sticker put on the back. These will not be found at Wal*Mart, TRU, Kmart or other retail stores. (Mattel reports that the bottom half was molded the wrong color. This seems more logical as the regular model is flat black on the Honda Element plastic panels. The real vehicle also has black plastic panels only.)

We learned that, for this reason, Series D will only have 11 different cars in the shops. Dealers have series of 12 Cars.

Note that Wave E shipped on 12/17/04, and some dealers still have supplies. I received my set from a dealer. The Wave F is appearing on eBay and at dealers.

The Matchbox forums report that the correctly colored Honda Element will appear in Superfast Wave G! I hope they have a few more old castings. I would also like to see some trucks.
