Description: Virtual PC is a must for any developer. Microsoft Virtual Server is now free to download and use. The only real differences between Virtual PC and Virtual Server is that Virtual Server supports virtual SCSI drives, but does not support sound. Virtual Server is great for running other operating systems or testing software. The word on the street was that it was going to be bundled with Windows Vista anyway.

Recova - File Recovery tool
Description: This freeware recovery tool appears on a lot of top ten lists for undeleting files. It was very effective for me for recovering some from an inadvertent system restore that deleted the My Documents directories. Recuva (pronounced "recover") is a freeware Windows utility to restore files that have been accidentally deleted from your computer. This includes files emptied from the Recycle bin as well as images and other files that have been deleted by user error from digital camera memory cards or MP3 players. It will even bring back files that have been deleted by bugs, crashes and viruses!
