Feedreader - Open Source Windows RSS aggregator
Description: This has been my RSS reader of choice until GreatNews caught my attention. Feedreader displays the site favicons, which is a must have feature. The display is three panes, much like an e-mail reader. The left pane contains the feeds tree (built from OPML). The upper right pane has the list of news items. The lower pane is for viewing the contents of the news items.

GreatNews: The Intelligent RSS Reader
Description: Desktop Windows RSS Aggregator. Two pane display. Shows the Favicons in the left pane (my personal requirement) in the folder tree. Content is displayed in right pane with two columns of complete feed text in a Times New Roman newspaper layout. Site graphic is not displayed. As of Feb 2006 Beta 1 has replaced Feedreader as my RSS reader of choice.

RSS Feed Validator
Description: This is a validator for syndicated feeds. It works with RSS 0.90, 0.91, 0.92, 0.93, 0.94, 1.0, and 2.0. It also validates Atom feeds. Despite its relatively simple nature, RSS is poorly implemented by many tools. This validator is an attempt to codify the specification (literally, to translate it into code) to make it easier to know when you're producing RSS correctly, and to help you fix it when you're not.

Description: UniveRSS is a 3D RSS feed reader for Windows Vista. It leverages the Windows Presentation Foundation and provides a stunning way of visualizing RSS feeds and their content. It introduces a full-screen 3D universe where galaxies represent the folders of your RSS feed directory, and the stars are represented by the spinning cubes that hold the feed information. Size and position of the feed cubes indicate how many unread items they contain.
