Maybe it is my love for the Die Hard movies, or just old school action movies. But i enjoyed it. My minor gripe is that it was too short, and that it was missing an action set piece. But at the same time, I also feel like if it was longer, there would be a part of the movie that I would skip over when watching at home. My real complaint was the lack of a solid villain, which was always the biggest part of what made the Die Hard movies so great. Re-Watching Skyfall just 2 days before seeing this movie really skewed my opinion on what a villain should be, so that may be part of my disappointment.
I would not recommend not seeing it, and would add that even after seeing it in theaters, I still plan to purchase the blu-ray.
If they make another, i would hope for:
New York Setting
Samuel L Jackson (Zues needs help, reaches out to John, his nephews are into some crazy drug gang thing)
Warlock cameo
A good Villian (like Javier Bardem as a drug lord (Bad Tony from Die Hard 3) or something)
Take place during Christmas (So that both of his Kids are visiting for the holidays, and because Die Hard 1 was the best Christmas movie EVER)
Or, please make a prequel:
Joseph Gordon Levitt as rookie cop John McClane, who gets bit by a radioactive rat while chasing a perp into the subway. Soon after, he discovers he has been genetically mutated and is now Unbreakable. {RC}
