Mulan [27]

I have not been this excited about a Disney film since Aladdin. This movie will be spectacular. Finally a female heroine that can be a role model for both boys and girls. Taken from an olde chinese story/poem - we follow the adventures of Mulan. A chinese girl that pretends to be a boy, to fight in the chinese army and helps to ward off the invaders. Yes we've seen the plot device before, but this time it will work. Disney has really brought animation back into the forefront of the public's mind. Fox and Waner Bros are now stepping into the ring, joining Amblin Entertainment and Disney as the big boys to showcase slicker animation and stories. (Hell, Dreamworks SGK is getting into the arena too. Although no one can touch Pixar and Toy Story just yet.) This will be the movie to take kids to see this summer. So enjoy it - you will get to go and see this movie often and with out guilt. [AB]
