Star Wars: The Force Awakens
This is the long awaited seventh installment in the Star Wars saga. We here at Group29.com founded the site on the premise that Star Wars was the greatest movie ever, a 29 on a scale of 1 to 10. When the first trailer came out, I felt as if I was saying hello to some old friends I had not seen in a long, long time. I am looking forward to the reunion.
I have seen a lot of trailers and done some analysis. The principals in the movie have not revealed much of the plot or their character actions.
Here is what I think happens:
New Hero Finn, a First Order Stormtrooper, sees something that his First Order leaders have produced. It is a superweapon he believes this is bad for the whole galaxy, so he makes his escape in a TIE fighter. He crashes on the planet of Jakku. However, not before seeing hero pilot Poe Dameron captured and tortured. Poe is a mole under the control of the First Order when he returns to the resistance base.
On the planet Jakku, he befriends Rey, a scavenger who resides near a crashed Star Destroyer. Unfortunately, the wrath of the First Order coming down, as Finn got away with something important that the First Order wants back. Rey leads Finn to an escape ship, which blows up. So she takes him to the hidden Millenium Falcon. Why is the Millenium Falcon there? Well that is Daddy Han Solos T-Bird, and Rey took it away.
Finn and Rey fly to where Han Solo is on a forest planet with a castle. There, they meet up with someone who happens to have the original lightsaber of Luke Skywalker. Did that not fall out of his hand on the Gas planet Bespin, in Empire Strikes Back?
They encounter the brother of Rey, Kylo Ren. He is also the son of Han and Leia. He has gone to the dark side. He has been collecting relics, and he has the melted mask of Darth Vader. He wants the lightsaber of his uncle Luke Skywalker. It is the lightsaber that somehow Finn gains possession of.
Finn, Rey, and Kylo Ren are all strong in the force. It is perhaps in them that the Force has awakened. Kylo may be a Sith, but more likely he is just a Force aware person who has succumbed to the dark side.
X Wing vs TIE Fighter battles abound. Yay! I had no idea there would be any more Star Wars to look forward to. Thank you George Lucas for turning this over to Disney. {BB}
