    Daredevil [9]

    Movie Reviews

    I...could...not...finish...watching...this...movie.

    OK cool start, comic book hero crashes into church and his life flashes before his eyes. Except that Daredevil is blind due to a childhood accident involving chemicals.

    Marvel and DC comics both have loads of super heroes that gained super powers due to exposure to radiation or poison or poisonous radiation. The Dilbert cartoon spoofed this by showing all the nerds hanging out down at the nuclear power plant dressed in capes hoping for a disaster.

    But, I digress. Daredevil now has super senses. Although he is in pain and takes lots of drugs and lives in a sensory deprivation tank. And, Oh by the way, his love life is in the toilet.

    Ben Affleck does a good job playing the character of Matt Murdock, but I could not take watching the movie. It just dragged on and on. The director's cut weighs in at 133 minutes. It seemed like a good 40 minutes before we even get to meet Bullseye. I think I like Bullseye better than Daredevil anyway.

    Fans of the comic will certainly enjoy the movie. Fans of Frank Miller will also enjoy the dark aspect he brought to the novels and movie. The Batman series benefited from similar treatment. I say stick with the movie adaptation of Stan Lee's Spiderman. Even the 1980s adaptations of the Superman movies were better.

    Stan Lee makes a cameo appearance in Daredevil when he goes to cross a street with a newspaper {BB}
