    Cable Guy, The [2]

    Movie Reviews

    This movie is not for anyone over about fifteen years of age. Children will love it for the same reasons that I felt robbed of my ticket fee. The premise of the movie is that a deranged cable television installer (Jim Cary) befriends a customer (Mathew Broderick) and uses his connections and technology to destroy the customer's life. I think it was a great plot along the lines of Cape Fear. This would have been a great movie if they had cast someone like Kevin Spacey as the cable installer, Kurt Russell as the customer, removed the attempts at humor, and made it a true suspense movie. The attempt to induce humor into this plot may have been a good idea and an expensive experiment, but they should have thought twice before filming. Don't waste your hard earned video money on this unless you have a need to witness this historic flop. {KC}
