    Movie Reviews

"Sir" Anthony Hopkins plays Charles Morse, a wooden, book-smart, multi-millionaire fashion mogul. Notice that I did not say "woodenly plays". The movie shows you why his character is so successful. He is strong-willed, real and makes progress in the face of whiners and nay-sayers. The biggest of the whiners is Alec Baldwin's character, Bob Green. We cannot sympathize with him at all. He is an obnoxious playboy whose biggest fault is that he had an affair with Morse's extremely good-looking trophy model wife. We know that Charles knows about the affair. We want Charles to get revenge on Bob. But Charles is much greater than the rest of us. I liked the story and scenery. The acting was probably not a stretch, but the characters were well played.

Spoiler: Horrifying (grisly?) bear mauling scene of a "whiny useless sack of an urban party dude" gives this movie an "R" rating. [BB]
