Escape From L.A. [11]

Snake Plissken is back!!! but it is a hard comeback to make. A story line that was fresh and imaginative back in 1982 seems kind of tired (now in 1996).

The movie has many problems. First and formost, the story. In Escape From New York, he had to rescue a bumbling president from the bowels of the maximum security prison at New York. Now he must hunt down the daughter of the new president, another fool... but a dangerous one. All within 9 hours to recover the doomsday device that may bring an end to the world by shutting off all the power on earth. (If you live in California, this may seem a timely thing...) Along the way, he gets attacked by out-of-control plastic surgeons in Beverly Hills, Laotian gang mambers, transvestite gang members (Is there a trend here?) and must face down a Fidel Castro-type dude to get his hands back on device and save the world. (Snake Plissken to the rescue?) Wait for the video or a matinee.{SD}
