    This is a good historical play about a fairly obscure piece of history. All the really good historical events, like major war battles and scientific discoveries, have already been made into movies. That leaves some not so universally interesting tales. Stephen Spielberg has taken another lesser known story, Schindler's List, and made it hit home for everyone. This movie is the same basic formula.

    I enjoyed the costumes and sets. Anthony Hopkins should get an Academy Award nomination just for the fact that he played a character with a limp. Disabled character parts are a shoe-in for Oscar night. The story does illustrate one thing that I never really had imagined even after reading about it. That is: How did the slaves get to America? The answer is: by ship, the hard way. Extra point for real U.S. Supreme Court Justice Harry Blackmun who appears in the 19th century U.S. Supreme Court scene. {BB}
