    Movie Reviews

    Entering the theater with very high expectations, I found that many of them were left crushed at the bottom of the MIB promotional machine cliff. I consider the only other over-hyped movie of the summer so far to be Hercules, which I refuse to see due to the fact that Disney and McDonalds have no need for a few bucks from my pocket this summer.

    It is not so much that MIB was "bad" but the hype and expectations got a little carried away. Yes, yes, the effects are cool, the story is pretty good and the performances are pretty much what youd think. Thats the problem... It is all just "status quo". The [Hollywood] Hype Machine is going full tilt, but the movie lacks the big punches that really would have sent it over the top.

    Will Smith basically plays the same role he did in ID4. (You can check my review of that here as well.) Tommy Lee Jones plays [Bing] Crosby to Smith's [Bob] Hope, and the comedy is pretty good. I have to rate this movie so low due to the fact that the hype was so out of hand. {SD}
