Othello [20] -1995-

This Kenneth Branaugh adaptation of Shakespeare's tragic play, Othello, is worth seeing. As always, Shakespearean English is very difficult to follow. I recommend seeing the movie a couple of times (although, not two nights in succession.) Lawrence Fishburne plays Othello the Moor, a general of Venice. Branaugh plays Iago, the original "Bad Lieutenant". There is enough sex and violence to keep this play from being broadcast at the beginning of prime time. {BB}
