    Romeo + Juliet [20] -1996-

    Movie Reviews

    This is a very interesting movie for the Frenetic Movie Man. First off, I have neither seen nor read the play Romeo & Juliet. Although the original play was based around the time Shakespeare wrote the play, this movie has moved the setting to the 1990s. The two families involved are in charge of multi-billion dollar corporations. And interestingly enough, between the two humongous skyscrapers owned by the fueding families, is a small little church which both families attend - but sit on opposite sides.

    I will give a quick overview of the movie. Boy meets girl, both fall in love, families forbid them to see one another. Boy and girl sense they can not have one another, kill themselves. Shakespeare at his best. This reviewer suggests that if this movie is still playing in you town go see it, and see what Shakespeare is all about. {MA}
