Fun: Matchbox Superfast 2006 Autobahn Set
    Matchbox Die Cast Cars
Wal Mart has a new five car Matchbox Superfast set called "Autobahn Exclusive Superset(tm) Decos" that appears to have all new model variations and packaging for 2006! I have been wondering if there would be Superfast models for 2006. Although, I have yet to receive my 2005 wave G.....

The new models in the five car package are:

    #15 BMW 850i, dark blue
    #20 Porsche 911 Turbo, yellow
    #64 Opel Speedster convertible, aqua
    #70 Mercedes-Benz SL55 AMG convertible, black
#74 Porsche Cayenne wagon, metallic dark green

The box art is similar to the 2005 art. However, the Superfast script is different. Also, the numbers are white letters with orange backgrounds instead of maroon backgrounds. All the cars have 5 spoke low profile wheels.

    Here is the box text:
The concept is simple. Make a road with no speed limit, two left lanes and free reign for fast cars.

The country is obvious. Germany, home to some of the greatest automakers in the world. Where else would the Autobahn be? Over the years, Matchbox(R) has produced multiple models from each of these great German manuafacturers and here are some of our favorites.

Now I have driven on the Autobahn from Munich to Vienna to Zurich to Cologne and did not see many stretches with more than two lanes. The traffic is heavy at most times. The scariest part is that trucks and slow cars are going 60km/hour in the right lane. But cars in the left lane are going 150km. To pass, you have to look for an opening not only to jump out, but jump back in as a Porsche barrels up behind you. Our VW van maxed out at 160km/ hour.

I finally received my wave G.

Also, the word on the street is that there will be a Sport Utility Vehicle set superfast five pack similar to this autobahn set. I would imagine that the Hummer H2, Lincoln Navigator/Ford Expedition, Chevrolet/GMC Suburban/Cadillac Escalade, Porsche Cayenne, and Land Rover Discovery might be on the list.
