UCLA vs USC Preview 2012 - November 17, 2012

In nine years of previewing, this is the first time the UCLA (17) has been ranked higher that USC (21) in the polls coming into the game. Up to this point, the Bruins have been subject to machetes, rock to the scissors, and a 50-0 blowout. There was one lone victory in 2006.
The game has been moved to the Saturday before Thanksgiving, the traditional rivalry Saturday. The game is going to be played in the Rose Bowl, It is scheduled for noon Pacific Time. It is to be broadcast on Fox, with Gus Johnson at the mike. The weather is cloudy and promises some rain. The 1961 game was rainy. UCLA won that year. It all seems to be a fine experience for the Bruins for a change.
However, the talent level really seems to be is the favor of the Trojans. They have a strong passer in Matt Barkley, and a strong receiving corps. UCLA cannot defend well against the pass. USC could cut them to ribbons. On the other hand, they may just have the wrong attitude. That is the only thing that will lose the game. That is correct, I believe this is still USCs game to lose.
