Samantha Brown is a star on the Travel Channel. My wife picked up her Passport to Great Weekends : Collection 1 DVD at the library. It has a show for Las Vagas, where my wife hopes to warm up for a few days during this endless dreary Spring of 2014.
My first impression of Samantha was not good. She looks like she is lost on what appears to be the Brooklyn Bridge. She has a sleeveless t-shirt and pants, and has made some attempt to pull it all together with a scarf.
In her shows, Samantha is a perky go-getter. Her subsequent DVDs have here facing the camera and showing her million dollar smile. The first DVD cover just makes her look disoriented, and not the kind of companion one would want on a journey.
In the picture above, the sky is cloudy, and so is Samantha's expression. Boo.
She shows some interesting side excursions in London. Her Vegas weekend is a winner. She tends bar and learns exotic dancing. In Paris however we see an old alley, an English language bookstore and a clothing store. In Orlando, it is shoe shopping and Wine drinking. The only redeeming vignette in Paris is going out to eat with an English ex patriot and getting a mixing bowl of chocolate mousse. We do not actually see Samantha finish many meals although she takes bites. She seems to be using the Ford Prefect as writer for Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy method. She is getting places to give free food in exchange for airtime.
Genius! She also manages to change wardrobes 2-3 times a day, so she must be able to pack alot.
