Making airline trips a little more comfortable
    Engineering: Things that are built
I have 66,000 Frequent Flyer miles on one major airline and 26,000 more on another and NO desire to use them. If the knee defender had been for sale at an airport gift shop any time in the last 15 years, I would have paid $20 gladly. $14.95 is a steal!

Even first class has precious little legroom. Those seats are designed to be cozy for the average teenage female. I cringe at the thought of ever having to fly in the steerage section again. Not to mention I am sick and tired of getting the standard colonoscopy in the security line. Then some weirdo is leering at me as he rummages through my suitcase looking for a safety pin that could be used to take over the airplane. Top that off with being packed in with the herd for 3 hours. Even steers about to be turned into veal get more breathing room.

Pile on top of all that, the possibility I need to share a seat with an incontinent Great Dane "assistive" animal or a morbidly obese woman whose fat is oozing into my personal space. It just creeps me out!

My dad (6' 3" 275 lbs) had a method that worked. A guy in front of him tried to force his seat back on to my dad's knees. This passenger was pushing back repeatedly thinking that there was something wrong with his seat. My dad grabbed the top of the guy's seat back in front of him and gave the guy whiplash as he flew forward at launch speed. This was punctuated by an ex cathedra "QUIT BANGING YOUR GOD DAMNED SEAT ON MY LEGS!!!"

I have not flown for more than two years, and I really do not want to start. The big airlines are all cutting down amenities and most are facing bankruptcy. Coupled with soldiers armed with automatic weapons at the checkpoint, I really do not even want to get close to the airport.
